Multi-Render

Multi Render

Sometimes a job calls for After Effects compositions to be rendered out with a variety of settings and target formats e.g. where the same media is going to a numer of devices. When you need to do this for multiple Compositions, setting up After Effects’ render queue can become a real chore. This script offers you a handy extension to After Effects; allowing you to select many compositions from your project tree, plus as many ‘Render Settings’ and ‘Output Module’ profiles as you like, whereupon the script will set up the render queue with all combinations of them.

Multi-format output like this can of course be achieved by rendering out once in high quality then using a high-end encoding package. However, using this After Effects script to achieve the same functionality within After Effects does offer a few potential benefits. For example: more consistent temporal effects (e.g. motion blurring) when rendering out to multiple target frame-rates, higher quality if rendering interlaced and progressive output. Also, unlike high-end encoding software, this script is free.
