Air Cursor

‘Air Cursor’ is a freeware Java application which allows Windows users to use their webcams as part of an alternative pointer device.
Users move a marker containing LED lights which is seen and identified by the webcam. The software translates the markers position and motion to the windows pointer on your screen. This method is especially suitable for users who may be unable to manipulate a mouse, as the marker could be attached to any movable part of the body.
I developed this project as part of my Computer Science degree scheme at Essex University, in the United Kindgom.
This project has been concluded and I am no longer working on it, however if you have any questions about it I’ll be happy to answer them.
